Eye of the Storm

It feels a bit like being in the eye of the hurricane today.  The 'big-five' have agreed on how to draw and quarter their fatted-calf, but the butchering remains to be done.  Chancellor Reed and the Trustees have decided who is going to take the hit - and it won't be the Chancellor, campus presidents, Trustees or administrators, I assure you.  As a hint:  450K students will suddenly become 400K students because they won't be admitted to the nation's largest university system - and that's not including those who will be priced out because of the 30% tuition increase over the past 12 weeks, and the likely cut of Cal Grants in Sacramento.

Along with Sleepy, Dopey, and Bashful, here's Happy

But we're waiting for the other shoe to drop.  Damn.  We could really use a good scandal right now to distract us from the carnage.  Where is Mark Sanford or Larry Craig when we really need them?  I'm just whistling a happy tune in the dark, hoping that this torture will be over soon and that we won't be furloughed more than two days a month and that it won't last past next June - but didn't I hear something about 'pigs flying...'?
